Our baby...

Here's Cali, she just had her nails done, and was being her usual skittish self... You should see the way she flirts with me in the morning so I give her free massages.

Monday at the Den

I went down to the Gypsy Den last night after work. This time I wasn't as nervous as other occasions. It's spring break so the place was packed, but even after arriving a bit late was able to get a table near the back with plenty of room to tune up and drink a coffee. I was really impressed by everyone else who got up, the talent this time was superior to other nights.

I only got to play one song, a short one called Abacus by Fionn Regan which I'm quite fond of. It went very well, no mistakes, nice round of applause. The song lasts only 2:24, short and sweet. This time instead of playing with my earphones and clip mic I decided to sit on a stool so the guitar was closer to my ear and it worked really well. I was planning on playing Dig In, but they had taken from 8pm to 9:45 to get around the list once so only the one song for each performer. I really enjoy playing live, it's worth getting butterflies if people dig what you are doing.

In other news, I was interviewing for a new job recently. My current company apparently can't afford to lose me so I decided to stay when they counter offered. I invested quite a bit of my own time researching and advising the new company on what I would do if I got the job. After I told them of my decision to stay where I was they expressed in a certain way I had wasted their time, which was quite a revealing reaction if you ask me. My desire to find a new job was genuine. It's part of the interviewing process. It's nice to know I am actually valued and appreciated here afterall.

Three weeks till we're off to England and Ireland so I had better get back to work.

Thank you for stopping by to say hello. I love to read your posts.
